I would like to congratulate Moldova, Invest Moldova Agency, and the DARS Films studio on the launch of the new campaign on BBC News — the first-ever promotional campaign of Moldova on a global television channel.
The beginning of the year is the perfect time for such a story. This is when the global investment and business community is shaping new strategies, exploring new markets, and looking for fresh ideas and growth opportunities. And it is precisely at this moment that Moldova is presenting itself to the world with a confident, modern, and emotionally compelling voice.
Working on this project became the first joint experience with Moldova for BBC News, BBC StoryWorks, and DARS Films. From the very start, this first collaboration proved to be rich, dynamic, and genuinely inspiring.
The DARS Films team did an outstanding job, transforming the visual materials provided by Invest Moldova Agency into a 30-second television film capable of conveying not only facts but also emotions. It was a challenging task to fit into a standard format what is usually experienced over a much longer time span:
the taste of ripe fruit, the aroma of Moldovan wine, the light over vineyards, the energy of people, and the rhythm of the country.
In this film, wine is not just a product, but part of Moldova’s identity and export strength. Behind the aesthetics lie real figures, markets, and trust: Moldova’s wine industry has established a confident presence on the international stage, and the export of agricultural products and wine is becoming an increasingly important component of the country’s economy and investment appeal.
Yet, as with any investment decision, figures and statistics alone are not enough.
Decisions are made at the intersection of rational analysis and emotion. Trust, perception of quality, and an understanding of a country’s culture and character play no less a role than growth indicators.
That is precisely why this campaign matters. It presents Moldova not only as a tourism destination, but as a country of opportunity for investors, exporters, and high-tech and innovative businesses.

I sincerely thank all the teams involved in this project for their professionalism, commitment, and ability to tell the story of a country in a way that makes you want not only to see it, but to understand and feel it.
An excellent start to the year for Moldova and an important step towards the development and strengthening of the national brand.
